Congratulations to blood collection workers at Red Cross, who voted 3-to-1 to join AFSCME. They won respect, dignity and a voice on the job. Ballots were counted this morning in an election where the employer agreed to remain neutral. These 288 workers join Local 3931, which was instrumental in the victory.
Workers on the organizing committee are already making our union stronger. Please welcome leaders Theresa Johnson, Larry Krier, Vicki Rudolph, Steve Cramer, Carlos Lopez and John Krier (see their photos in the attached flyer).
Honor is due to our phenomenal organizing team. Marybeth Juetten and Tom Boik were leads on this campaign, with our team of Beth Walters, Andy Hamerlinck, Adrienne Kern, Garat Ibrahim, and our staff from AFSCME international (Janet Cleveland, Jose Uribe, Keith Jackson and Lyle Grimes).
